Inversion 1.

2- Very rarely do you come across anyone nowadays who hasn’t been abroad.

6- Not only did I hate visiting monuments as a child but also I couldn’t stand going into museums.

7- Only recently have I started going on holidays without my parents.

8- Never again will I go back to that place I went last year on holiday.

Inversion 3.

1- Only when I got to the hotel did I realize that it was very uncomfortable.

2- Not until you go to the hotel will you see that is extremely disgusting.

3- Not only did I hate the hotel because is uncomfortable but also because is pretty expensive.

4- Nowhere in the world is there a place with bad attention, so far from everywhere and so expensive like this hotel.

5- Never again will I go back to that so disgusting place.

My language 5 blogging experience.

First of all, having a blog is very interesting and a good space where we can communicate something we feel or something that is happennig in our lives. If I don't have nobody, in certain moments, who I can tell what happen with me, I can vent my feeling writing in the blog. Most of the time, people use blogs for that.

In my case, I have never used a blog because I was not interested in having a space to write something, I thought that I didn't have anything to say to the rest of the people. Moreover, I don't have Internet at home, so it will be difficult to keep a site like that.

When I sign up in that webpage, I found out many interesting things to do there. However, was almost a challenge to create my page because I don’t know very well how to use some pages on Internet. When I learnt the correct way to use it, I had to learn how to make it entertaining. So, I had to go my classmate’s pages to learn how to make it fun.

When I created my first post I thought the blog will be a waist of time. Nevertheless, I must say that was pretty good to have a blog during this semester because the fact that every Friday I wrote something make me improve a lot the way I write.

As a confession, I am a little lazy to practice writing and I know I should spend more time doing it, in order to be better. But, sometimes I don’t have time to do it, or I have to spend that time doing assignments for university. In that way, the blog force me to practice at least Fridays.

Finally, I consider the blog was a very good experience, really useful and a good tool to improve my English writing. For that, I'll try to keep it, in order to continue learning and improving my English.

My reflective essay

First of all, the topic I will use for the essay is motivation. I choose this topic because I think is extremely important when you teach something. As a futur teacher you must have the capacity of motivate your pupils in order they can learn correctly. If you do it something interesting or fun, you will get the child learn it.

On the other side, I can demostrate that is really important when you want to teach something, and you want your children can learn it, the fact that you have to believe in your children and it doesn't matter if the child learn very fast or he need more support, it is extremely important that you recognize not just if the child learn what you want he/she learn but is important that you can recognaize her effort and if he/she improve in her/his knowledge.

After presenting my arguments which demostrate that the most relevant thing to get a real and efficient knowledge is the support of the children and the rest of the people and the motivation that the teacher provides to their pupils.

Finally, I will compare this, with what is happening nowadays because in my view in Chile there are many problems with this topic.

Schools are killing creativity

First of all, it was difficult for me to understand very well what Ken Robinson wanted to say but I'm going to talk about what I understood and what I think about the way schools are killing creativity.

I think school are killing creativity because most of the schools are teaching for university or for working. If a school wants all their students go to the university after school, they must to be good teaching all the contents which are in the curriculum. If that not happens the school is considered as a bad school, for that reason most of them is priority instruct and not educate. Also, I think this is the reason for what school are killing the creativity, as Ken Robingson said in the educational system that we have nowadays is better and more important to teach Math or Literature than art or music.

The fact that schools and teachers prefer to teach academic things instead of things that improve their abilities, could produce that children believe is not important to develop that kind of skills, they don't have to learn some things the society don't need and what is not neccesary for their future, in that way techers are teaching that the only way to be the best is learning and improving what the society is expecting they should develop, so finally they will do everything the society is expecting they do it and not what they want to do and what they want to be.

What do you like to read?

I like so much read but now, I don't have time to read something because I have many things to do. so, most of the time I just read books I have to read it for university.

I used to read a lot of book, but my favorite writer is Stephen King I' ve read many of his books and I think are very interesting.

I tried to read when I have time but to be sincere I don't do it frequently. Most of tha time I do it when I am in my job, due to I work in a call center and sometimes I have a lot of time without any call and without anything to do, so I tried to read something interesting or fun during the ten hours I spend waiting for a call in my work.

I think I like to read because when I was a child my mother used to read me a piece of some book, and I think that is good for children, in that way they learn more vocabulary and they develop a good taste for books.

Something I would like to learn.

There are many thing I would like to learn.

To be sincere there are two thing I would like to learn. I really want to learn dancing and cooking. I wish that since a lot of time ago and I hope if I have enough money someday I can do it. However there one thing I have to learn now because is very useful to know it.

About dancing I'm not so bad, I can do it like a common people but I would like to know many kinds of dancings and do it exellent, in order I can go anywhere and dance any song.

The other thing I would like to learn is cooking. I am not so bad doing some dishes but I would like to be better and to know more. Indeed, in my home I don't cook very much because I know to do just a few things and the typical things. When we have to cook something a little difficult (and with difficult I wanted to say something that is not rice or pasta), my mother has to cook. Besides the expert in desserts is my sister. So, as you can see I don't know to cook many things and I say, When my mother won't be with me what I will eat. For this reason I think the most urgent thing I would like to learn and that I have to learn is to cook.

The person I admire

I think the most wonderful person I ever met is my mother. I know this doesn't sound very mature but is not because I think will be always with her...no way!
Is just because she had a very difficult life and she can carry on with her life.
I admire her because he is separated since I was 5 years old and my sister three years old. She had to continue her life with us and we never have problems with anything, we have food, health, home, support, affection and everything we wanted we have it, including gifts.
Beside, she is a very good mother because she had to work a lot in order to we have everything we need. However, she always had time to play with us, talk with us and give us good pieces of advice.
Sometimes she is a little irritable but is because she has to do a lot of thing, though most of the time she is happy and extremely relaxed. She has a lot of faults but nobody is perfect and she tries to be better every day and change the bad things.
The best thing of my mother is that she is very kind and pleasant. So I don't have problems to go to my home with my friends or my boyfriend.

Pets

He isn't my dog, I would like one like this but I can't have one.

I like very much animals but I don't have a pet because my mother doesn't like them. Once I had a dog called "negrito".He was one month with me and my family but he was very untidy, he bit everything he found and he was running for all my home. So, my mother wasn't happy and he gave him to my grandmother.

Now, we live in a department, so we don't have space to have a pet. Besides, my mother work all day, I stay all day in the university and my sister work in the morning and study in the university in afternoon. As you can see we don't have time to take care of a pet. I prefer to have one when I have enough space and time because I hate the people who have a pet and he is alone all day or he don't have space to move and do whatever he want to do.

My dream vacations

I think my perfect vacations would be a week in a caribbean place like Bahamas and with close friends, my boyfriend or somebody who I can have a fun week.

I like Bahamas because have a really nice wether, a beautiful ocean and is composed of many island. Gran bahama island is the bigger and my favorite . I didn't know it but I've read a lot of thing about it because in first year I had to do an exposition of my favorite place, so I chose that island.

I think the best place place to relax, far away from all my obligations, noyse and unpleasant people. Imagine a beautiful place with historic neighborhoods, modern attractions, ecological wonders, delicious food, many shops, tours to know the best places of the island an of course many beaches to enjoy my afternoons, with sun and warm water. Besides, if I want I can do water sports which are very popular in that place.

I do think would it be perfect, that island is something like paradise and I could return to my daily routine without stress and pressures.

Education... Is really important?

Education is a process where a person transmit to another not just knowledge but many other things, including behavior, a way to face life and contribute to society in a positive way.
There are differents kinds of education, the most typical is school or college education were you can acquire knowledge, disciline and a good behavior as the society demand. Also there is another kind of edcucation that is what you learn during life and with the peolple around you.

In my view Education is extremely important and necessary. Can you imagine a world without education? A world without people who teach other people? what will happen if we would not have a person who teach the other specialties, like studies for doctor or lawyers?

Well... I can't imagine a world without education because is the base of everything, is the way that somebody transmit to another knowledge, values, habits, and form his/ her personality. This is specially important for children due to most of the parents believe that when children are in school, teachers are encharge of their education. however, parents have the same responsability but many times they don't pay attention of their children, or they don't feel they have to teach some things if they have in school.
I do think education is the most important thing in the world, however people don't give it the importance that should have.

The city of the future.

I visited a webpage about an idea of the perfect and future city, is called "Victory city". A man named Orville Simpsons was its inventor and he thought about that when he was 13 years old.

The purpose of this man was improve the life of many people, providing them many useful benefits, like progress, science, prosperity, beuty, serenity, etc.

I read most of the ideas about this city and I think if something like that was possible that's would be wonderful. I imagine a city with no pollution, crime, clean, and all benefits concern to health care, more free time and better conservation of natural resourses.

I think the ideas of this man are very foward-thinking and innovative but it is almost impossible to think in a city like "Victory city". Is not viable that a city could work with all those benefits, first of all because you need so much money to get that. Second it is unrealizable finished with the crime due to is natural in the world, always will be bad and good people. I think the inventor of this perfect city has very good ideas but idealistic ideas, it is inthinkable to get a city like he propose it.

I think in 2050 Santiago will be the same as is now, with the same urban problems, the same money system, education and health care will be the same because that kind of things need a lot of time to change. Maybe, the future government will apply some measure and will be possible to reduce crime and pollution. Maybe the people who will live in that year will have more technology. However a real and big change will happen in many years later.

dreams...

I like dreams I think is very interesting because you can find a lot of thing inside. I do think most of the times you dream about what you really wish, what you want to do but you can't do it or what is very hide in your conscience. though, sometimes you just dream with stupid things and when you remember it, is very funny. Once, I dreamt something so stupid!! I don't know what was happening in my mind in that moment. It is a really weird dream... I was in something like a forest. I was walking and suddenly I saw a lot of people in a line waiting for something, as I did't know what they were waiting for, I asked to somebody in the line. He told me that they were waiting for a man who have the ability to fly. I thought that it was impossible, so I decided wait for the man. When the overweight man return to his travel through the air, he had a person in his back, when the person descended another person, who was waiting in the line, another person ascended. When it was my turn, I ascended to the back of the man and I could fly, I could see all the trees. then I descended, I continued walking. Well, I know is completely strange... but ..well...you can't have a control on your mind ...

2012...Doomsday?

I don't know so much about what will happen that year. I've heard that we'll die because will be the end of the world. To be really sincere, I don't think so!
so....
I was reading some articles on Internet and I read Leonor' s post and I could understand what means that year.

I don't know if I'm missunderstanding something but what I read talk about Maya's calendar which was find and said that something bad will happen in dicember 21, 2012. Could be a ecological collapse, a sunspot storm, a rare cosmic conjuction of the earth, sun and the galactic center.

It is supossed that some of those things will happen in that year but is not true that is the end of the world. I don't know why some people said that everybody will day, maybe is people who don't know about that.

I remember when people thought that in new year of 2000 woul be the the doomsday and meny people don't want to wait for that moment, so they commited suicide.

In my view, I don't thing that will happen, maybe something in the earth will change but I don't think will be the end and that we will die. However, I think that will happen some day because every day we are distroying our planet and we are making the world worst damaging each other. So, doomsday is in our hands.

Paranormal events

There are a lot of people who believe in ghosts and somethings like that and they really feel afraid of that. In my view, ghosts don't exist, maybe is because I have never seen one. the thing is, that if you take time to look for that kind of things, you will find a lot of people who said they saw a ghost.

For example, I don't remember the day but I saw in a tv program that a family went to a cementery to visit somebody of their family, the little girl of the family take flowers of the other tomb and she came with them to her home. since that all the things of the family start burning.

Also, I know another story but the person who tell me about it is very close to me.

He had a very close relationship with his grandfather, when he die he felt very bad. One day he was walking on the street and a bus stop in front of him, when the bus going on, he could see in one of the bus's windows the image of his grandfather who says good bye.

To be sincere, I don´t think that things happen, but as I've said is because I haven't experimented something like that. However, the are some people who said that when somebody dies her spirit remains here with the people who loves him/her.

My family

My immediate family consists of my mother and my sister, we are just three in my home but it seems that a hundred of people live there.

We try to get along well but sometimes it doesn’t work, especially in the middle of the year or when my sister and I were in the middle of our semester, so I think is a bit stormy relationship. I think that happen because in this moment we are a little stressed, stroppy and sometimes we don’t react in the best way, though if we have a problem we tried to talk in friendly terms.

My youngest sister is the person who is always trying to make things work out, maybe because she has a laid-back personality, she has a tendency to be positive and a relax attitude to life. She is a very special person for me because she is always when I need help and in spite of she is younger than me, she always know what to say and in the correct moment, She makes me down to earth but a positive person.

My favorite movie

My favorite movie is "the butterfly effect", it was directed and written by Erick Bress and J. Mackye Gruber and it is an exelent american film. The movie was released in january, 23, 2004. The principal actors are Amy Smart and Ashton Kutcher, who is one of my favorite actors. The central song of the movie is "stop crying your heart out" by Oasis and is my favorite English song.

This movie was followed by "Butterfly effect 2" but is not as good as the first movie, in fact many people says that is very bad and has a story almost similar but simpler.

The movie has this name due to the Butterfly effect theory, Which says that something seemingly innocuous, such a flap of a butterfly's wings, may have unexpected concequences in the future.

The movie is about a boy called Evan Treborn who lose some memories about his chilhood because it was traumatic, so when the movie goes to the present show us how is his life and he tried to change it using a book he wrote when he was a child. Every time he try to change something in his life he realized that if he make a change, that will change everything in his life and to save somebody another person will be injured.

He tried to change many times how happend the facts in his life in order to nobody was injured and he can be with his old friend and love "kayleigh".

Finally, he found out he has to lose something to make the life of the people he loves better. For that he decided to lose kayleigh's love.

I like this movie because talks about some things I think are true. Any movement or any change that ypu make in your life can affect others and sometimes you have to lose something and be generous to make the life of the people you love better.

my favourite song

I don't have any favorite song that have been created recently. My favorite English song is a little bit old, is called "Stop crying your heart out" by Oasis. Actually, I like all the song of this english band, I think is one of my favorite bands and that song I always have it in my mp3 and I can't stop listening to.

The first time I heard it was about three or four years ago, when I watched "The butterfly effect" because is the movie's central song. When I heard it I like immediately, so I looked for the lyric of the song. I think the reason I like the song is the melody and the lyric. The song's melody is a little sad but the song has a encouraging message in its lyric, so it's really good when you feel sad due to some situations.

Hi!!
I chose Leonor's blog to see and criticize it.
Well, her blog doesn't have many things. I could see inside of her blog all the assignments but are just words; she could upload some pictures related with the text, which could be more fun. She has not many interesting things or something that show me who is she, I mean something that represent her, like a picture of her pet because in a post she talks a lot about street dogs, however I can't see anything about her pet and I know she has one called "koda". So that, she could upload some pictures of "koda". Also, she could upload a picture of her in the profile because is a little bit boring if you can't see the face behind the blog.
About the blog's color I think is beautiful, very pink! But is like her.
The other thing that I liked is the glitter text that she put in the down part of the blog, that is very beautiful and make the blog more fun.
There are some other things that she could upload to make more fun her blog and interesting to see it, like a clock or a box with the whether, I think that would be very useful.

Hi Everyone!!!

I must admit that BBC is a very goos(sp) website. Actually(p) I was watching some important and interesting reports like:. People are sleeping less these(ww) days and this fact is deeply affecting their health because they can(wf) concentrate well, their temperament is eally(sp) frayed and they tend to be always tetchy, like they were angry all the time.This problem could be caused due to the fact that some people are overworked (p)not only because they like working all (x)time but because they need to work more to have enough money to live.The situation is getting worst since teenagers are having the same problem and also some children, because as the fact that some of them have tv or computers inside their bedrooms, they stay awake until several hours after midnight and they have to get up early in the morning. In some cases this could be the cause of their low averages in schools.On the other hand(p) I also read about a page that gives you some english quizzes in few minutes and I really liked the website about phonetic, where we can prctise(sp) the pronunciation and know how we sound. This is veryhelpful(sp) now to improve our spoken skills.

my complaint

Dear president:
It is with regret That I write this letter to express my disappontment and annoyance about some situations which are happenning in my neighborhood. First of all, I walk about three or four blocks to arrive my home everyday and in the way there is a street where is very dificult to cross it because drivers don't take care about the people who are crossing it. Before we didn't have any highway code, when people complain about that somebody in the local council take care about it and put some in the street, including a zebra crossing. The most common problem is with the zebra crossing because they have painted it many times but in that street circulate many cars, for that now is almost disappeared, therefore any driver can see it. In my view, this is a huge probleme because of this is a school zone so, there are always many children around the street and crossing it. I think a good idea would be to put bigger highway codes and periodically somebody from the local council could paint the zebra crossing, in that way we could avoid accidents. I would like you can resolve this probleme as soon as posible. I look forward to hearing from you by return.

What I do at Easter

Well...I don't like very much holy week because I'm not very religious person, and I think Easter is for children But I have to say that My mother every year give me Easter eggs and I like them so much. Is a little ridiculous because I'm not a child and my sister have almost the same age, but in that day we have to looking for our Easter eggs. I think is funny but sometimes I think I'm not in the age to do that things, but my mother always says that in our souls we have to be children.
The other thing that I like about Easter is that you have time to be with your family and share with them all the things you do that day and take a break about everything you do during the week.

the worst thing about Chilean people

In our culture there are many things which are not very good, for example, public transport, rude people and language, in other words, the strange way that Chilean people speak. We have a lot of "idioms" or word which are not belong to spanish. So, When people from other countries came to Chile have many problems whith that situation.
This is the case of the person I interviewed.

how can I improve my English skills?

I was reviewing the link of teacher Simon’s blog and I found a very interesting article and videos about how you can improve your pronunciation and do exercises about English. I think that kind of pages are very useful especially for people who study English, like me, because that can help you to improve and practice the language.

I started practicing and It was very useful for me because I could hear myself and realized how I pronounce and how other people hear me when I talk to them, What are my mistakes, the words that I don’t pronounce very well, and with this kind of exercises you can start to improve and learn more English little by little.

Inside of this page I found some quizzes, where you can do exercise about phrasal verbs, modal verbs and that kind of things. I think doing this exercises is very good and this page is very interesting. Try to do it!
