Activity for today: inversions 1,2 and 3.

Inversion 1.

2- He had never seen anything so beautiful before.

3- The effects are becoming apparent only now.

4- Exhibits must be touched on no account.

5- You rarely find a coin of this age in such good condition.

6- She realized what had happened only when she got home.


Inversion 2.

2- Very rarely do you come across anyone nowadays who hasn’t been abroad.

3- Only by living in a country where the language is spoken can you really learn it.

4- Under no circumstances should tourist be allowed to visit the Antarctic.

5- Not until you have tried French cuisine will you truly know what good food is.

6- Not only did I hate visiting monuments as a child but also I couldn’t stand going into museums.

7- Only recently have I started going on holidays without my parents.

8- Never again will I go back to that place I went last year on holiday.

Inversion 3.

1- Only when I got to the hotel did I realize that it was very uncomfortable.

2- Not until you go to the hotel will you see that is extremely disgusting.

3- Not only did I hate the hotel because is uncomfortable but also because is pretty expensive.

4- Nowhere in the world is there a place with bad attention, so far from everywhere and so expensive like this hotel.

5- Never again will I go back to that so disgusting place.

My language 5 blogging experience.

First of all, having a blog is very interesting and a good space where we can communicate something we feel or something that is happennig in our lives. If I don't have nobody, in certain moments, who I can tell what happen with me, I can vent my feeling writing in the blog. Most of the time, people use blogs for that.

In my case, I have never used a blog because I was not interested in having a space to write something, I thought that I didn't have anything to say to the rest of the people. Moreover, I don't have Internet at home, so it will be difficult to keep a site like that.

When I sign up in that webpage, I found out many interesting things to do there. However, was almost a challenge to create my page because I don’t know very well how to use some pages on Internet. When I learnt the correct way to use it, I had to learn how to make it entertaining. So, I had to go my classmate’s pages to learn how to make it fun.

When I created my first post I thought the blog will be a waist of time. Nevertheless, I must say that was pretty good to have a blog during this semester because the fact that every Friday I wrote something make me improve a lot the way I write.

As a confession, I am a little lazy to practice writing and I know I should spend more time doing it, in order to be better. But, sometimes I don’t have time to do it, or I have to spend that time doing assignments for university. In that way, the blog force me to practice at least Fridays.

Finally, I consider the blog was a very good experience, really useful and a good tool to improve my English writing. For that, I'll try to keep it, in order to continue learning and improving my English.

My reflective essay

First of all, the topic I will use for the essay is motivation. I choose this topic because I think is extremely important when you teach something. As a futur teacher you must have the capacity of motivate your pupils in order they can learn correctly. If you do it something interesting or fun, you will get the child learn it.

On the other side, I can demostrate that is really important when you want to teach something, and you want your children can learn it, the fact that you have to believe in your children and it doesn't matter if the child learn very fast or he need more support, it is extremely important that you recognize not just if the child learn what you want he/she learn but is important that you can recognaize her effort and if he/she improve in her/his knowledge.

After presenting my arguments which demostrate that the most relevant thing to get a real and efficient knowledge is the support of the children and the rest of the people and the motivation that the teacher provides to their pupils.

Finally, I will compare this, with what is happening nowadays because in my view in Chile there are many problems with this topic.

Schools are killing creativity

First of all, it was difficult for me to understand very well what Ken Robinson wanted to say but I'm going to talk about what I understood and what I think about the way schools are killing creativity.

I think school are killing creativity because most of the schools are teaching for university or for working. If a school wants all their students go to the university after school, they must to be good teaching all the contents which are in the curriculum. If that not happens the school is considered as a bad school, for that reason most of them is priority instruct and not educate. Also, I think this is the reason for what school are killing the creativity, as Ken Robingson said in the educational system that we have nowadays is better and more important to teach Math or Literature than art or music.

The fact that schools and teachers prefer to teach academic things instead of things that improve their abilities, could produce that children believe is not important to develop that kind of skills, they don't have to learn some things the society don't need and what is not neccesary for their future, in that way techers are teaching that the only way to be the best is learning and improving what the society is expecting they should develop, so finally they will do everything the society is expecting they do it and not what they want to do and what they want to be.

What do you like to read?

I like so much read but now, I don't have time to read something because I have many things to do. so, most of the time I just read books I have to read it for university.

I used to read a lot of book, but my favorite writer is Stephen King I' ve read many of his books and I think are very interesting.

I tried to read when I have time but to be sincere I don't do it frequently. Most of tha time I do it when I am in my job, due to I work in a call center and sometimes I have a lot of time without any call and without anything to do, so I tried to read something interesting or fun during the ten hours I spend waiting for a call in my work.

I think I like to read because when I was a child my mother used to read me a piece of some book, and I think that is good for children, in that way they learn more vocabulary and they develop a good taste for books.

Something I would like to learn.

There are many thing I would like to learn.

To be sincere there are two thing I would like to learn. I really want to learn dancing and cooking. I wish that since a lot of time ago and I hope if I have enough money someday I can do it. However there one thing I have to learn now because is very useful to know it.

About dancing I'm not so bad, I can do it like a common people but I would like to know many kinds of dancings and do it exellent, in order I can go anywhere and dance any song.

The other thing I would like to learn is cooking. I am not so bad doing some dishes but I would like to be better and to know more. Indeed, in my home I don't cook very much because I know to do just a few things and the typical things. When we have to cook something a little difficult (and with difficult I wanted to say something that is not rice or pasta), my mother has to cook. Besides the expert in desserts is my sister. So, as you can see I don't know to cook many things and I say, When my mother won't be with me what I will eat. For this reason I think the most urgent thing I would like to learn and that I have to learn is to cook.

Something I would like to learn.
